I finally did the thing.. I have gone through some battles over the last 6 months. I have 2 brain aneurysms, went into brain surgery, had a stroke, had to relearn how to walk, I lost function and feeling of my left side of my body which was my dominant side, etc... I was all about giving up. But, while recovering at a family members house after almost 3 weeks in the hospital, I saw a painting I had made 10 years ago. I had a love hate given the mistakes that only I would notice. But I had told myself for years I was going to remake it, better someday. Well, today, I finally felt confident enough to try drawing again. What better way to dive back in, then to redraw the Koi fish I once painted for my uncle. Koi represent perseverance, and I feel that this was the main inspiration to finally complete it and get back to feeling like myself again. I'm not done ❤️Here is also the original painting from 10 years ago, and I must say looking back, I am happy to say, I think I have improved over the years, even with this broken body of mine.
